I remember this topic/thread being especially popular during the last boards.

People wrote poetry about Smash Bros., so I would like to reopen that thread.

'Cept this time, anything video game related by any means whatsoever. People, places, games, characters, whatever you can think of.

Last time peole had some incredible poetry, and I'd like to see some of that again.

I will put some stuff up shortly. I had a feature on a website I worked on for a long time (the now defunct NthPowerOnline) called N-verse where I had a different poem about something related to videogames every week in a different style for the amusement of it.

This is my ode to the Smash Bros. Queen.
She is so perfect, and she is so keen.

When I am with her, we’re an unstoppable pair.
Some people say “That’s just not fair.”
She has a cheap move, her Double Edge Gown.
It's easy to use. Just hit C-Down!

I love how she automatically L-Recovers.
It makes her so much better than the Mario Bros.

Her float is the greatest! It never fails!
Floating above, like the wind she sails.

Her only bad move is her Peach Bomber.
If only it was replaced with a move that was stronger.

"Oh! Did I win?!" Is my win phrase of choice.
I just love how she says it in her cute little voice.

I believe that will do for the one known as Peach.
Just remember she'll pwn you, with one grandpa each.

Here's my piece 'o crap that I put on the old boards more than a year ago (*sigh* has it really been that long?):

This is my poem to the game that is Smash Brothers
Fighting games this good, there are simply no others
how many times have you played until morning?
Anuj staying sleepless, in spite of the warning
Ordering pizza, some need money for loaning
wait for a TV, then try to do some pwning
chain throws and wave dashes soon fill up the screen
all in an attempt to be the smash brothers queen
2 in the morning, when it reaches that hour
smashers still smashing, not caring to shower
then when at last they are at home in their bed
images of Smash Brothers dance in their head.

I got bored last night and wrote this... I really need friends....

Tomatoes and turnips, it's a wonderful life!
Meet all the ladies, then find you a wife
Get yourself a son to carry your name
live out the farm life that is rather tame
Give to the people 'round town and be nice
so friendship and cut scenes you soon will entice
acquire great wealth from cows and tree seeds
give of your riches or keep them in greed
With your great wealth you may do what you wish
sleeping, chatting, or a 3AM fish
Try not to waste all of your life away
eventually you see your very last day
say goodbye to your cows and bye to your sheep
goodbye to your neighbors, then take your last sleep

I wonder how many hours of my life I've spent playing harvest moon games? Probably not as many as I've spent playing SMRPG...

A Wonderful Life, as in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life... that's the specific HM game I wrote about in that poem, 'cuz you actually get old and can't play after 10 years (implied: death).
